Application process

At RSM, you’ll be challenged to learn and grow from day one, but it’s important to find the right opportunity for you and to make sure that we’re the right fit. Being prepared in advance can help you maximise your chances of finding the right role and succeeding in your application.

We have
practice assessments available to help you prepare. Please be aware that these aren’t designed to mirror the exact experience of the assessments you may be asked to complete. Instead they will give you an idea of the sorts of questions you may come across during an assessment.

Remember that if you’re applying for a
school leaver, placement or graduate role, you’ll only be able to make one application per recruitment cycle. So take the time to look through our available roles and to apply for the one that most suits your career aspirations.

Applying for early careers roles

When you apply for an early careers role at RSM, you'll go through a five-stage application process. Each is designed for us to evaluate your strengths and experience, and for you to gain insight into what a career at RSM entails.

1. Online application

The first stage of your application is to fill out our online application form. Remember, you can make just one application per intake.

2. Online assessment

Next up is an online, scenario-based strength assessment – which also includes a numerical reasoning test. This will take 45 minutes, and you must complete it within seven days.

3 . Service line job simulation

If your online assessment is successful, you’ll be invited to the service line job simulation. This is specific to the role you’ve applied for and will be a combination of a video and written interview. This will take 45 minutes and you must complete it within seven days.

4. Assessment centre

If your job simulation is successful, you’ll be shortlisted for our virtual assessment centre session, which will last around three and a half hours.

5. Final interview

You’ve made it this far, and the final step is an interview with a manager, director or partner from the office or department you’ve applied to join. This is your opportunity to gain a better understanding of life at RSM and ask plenty of questions.

Reasonable adjustments

At RSM, we recognise that when people with diverse backgrounds and points of view work together, we create the most value – for our clients, our people and our society. This means recruiting from the widest possible pool of talent, removing barriers that can prevent our people from reaching their full potential and fostering a fully inclusive environment which maximises collaboration and empowers everyone to thrive in the workplace.

We don’t want anything to stand in the way of you having a positive experience during our application process and we’re here to support you should you require any help, advice or adjustments.

Each applicant is unique, and we encourage you to talk through any specific requirements you have. There is a section in the application form for you to tell us about any adjustments you may need and you can also reach out directly to a member of our team by emailing
 earlycareers.recruitment@rsmuk.com.
