Application process

At RSM, you’ll be challenged to learn and grow from day one. It starts with finding the right opportunity for you and making sure that we’re the right fit too. By preparing well in advance of your application, you can put yourself in the best position to succeed in joining us.

We have practice assessments to help you prepare. These aren’t designed to be an exact replica of an assessment, but they will give you an idea of the sorts of questions you may be asked.

Some of our roles may be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may close earlier than advertised if we receive high volumes of applications. We recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.

If you’re applying for a  school leaver, placement or graduate role, you’ll only be able to make one application per recruitment cycle. So please take the time to look through our available roles and apply for the one that most suits your career aspirations.

Applying for early careers roles

When you apply for an early careers role at RSM, you'll go through a five-stage application process. Each is designed for us to evaluate your strengths and experience, and for you to gain insight into what a career at RSM is like.

Please use your personal email address when applying and avoid using your university email address. This will make sure you receive updates about your application process.

1. Online application

The first stage of your application is to fill out our online application form. Remember, you can make just one application per intake.

2. Online assessment

Next up is an online, scenario-based strength assessment – which also includes a numerical reasoning test. This will take 45 minutes, and you must complete it within seven days.

3 . Service line job simulation

If your online assessment is successful, you’ll be invited to the service line job simulation. This is specific to the role you’ve applied for and will be a combination of a video and written interview. This will take 45 minutes and you must complete it within seven days.

4. Assessment centre

If your job simulation is successful, you’ll be shortlisted for our virtual assessment centre session. This will last around three and a half hours.

5. Final interview

You’ve made it this far, and the final step is an interview with a manager, director or partner from the office or department you’ve applied to join. Depending on the service line, there may be additional exercises as part of the interview.

This is also your opportunity to gain a better understanding of life at RSM and ask plenty of questions. We encourage you to come prepared and make the most of this valuable conversation.

Reasonable adjustments

At RSM, we recognise that when people with diverse backgrounds and points of view work together, we create the most value – for our clients, our people and our society. This means recruiting from the widest possible pool of talent, removing barriers that can prevent our people from reaching their full potential and fostering a fully inclusive environment which maximises collaboration and empowers everyone to thrive in the workplace.

We don’t want anything to stand in the way of you having a positive experience during our application process and we’re here to support you should you require any help, advice or adjustments.

Each applicant is unique, and we encourage you to talk through any specific requirements you have. There is a section in the application form for you to tell us about any adjustments you may need and you can also reach out directly to a member of our team by emailing
 earlycareers.recruitment@rsmuk.com.
