Interview guidance
Find out how to get the most from your virtual assessment and interview
To make a good impression during your virtual assessment and interview stages, you’ll need to show that you’ve researched RSM and the role you’re applying for.

Preparing in advance is the best way to feel ready when it comes to the interview process. Follow the steps below to be prepared:
  • Dress smartly as you would for any interview. Remember that if the interview is taking place virtually, you’ll be visible while on the call.
  • Prepare some questions about the role or the business area that interests you, as this will be your opportunity to continue the conversation. Your questions could be about our clients or corporate responsibility, for example.
  • If your interview is online, check that your internet connection, sound, camera and video are all working.
  • Be yourself. Remember, we think personality and passion are just as important as good exam results.
  • Make sure you take the time to review the job description for the role you applied for. Ask yourself what makes you a good fit for this role and what previous experience you could call on to support your answers.
  • Expect a mix of strengths-based questions and broader questions designed to help us to get to know you. We're keen to hear examples of how you might apply commercial acumen and your understanding of current affairs relating to business.

The more prepared you are, the more confident you’ll feel going into the interview, so be sure to take your time and plan ahead to maximise your chances of success.
