I joined RSM over six years ago as an HR assistant in the central region. I thoroughly enjoyed the culture here and found many opportunities to grow and develop my HR career. 

Before my time here, I was set on becoming a generalist HR professional. After a year or so working with other areas of HR, I found a love for all things reward and moved into a new role in this area. I haven’t looked back since.

I joined the in-house legal team on secondment in 2006 and jumped at the chance to take on a permanent role the following year. I have dealt with an amazing variety of work over the years, which has been both challenging and highly rewarding. No two days are the same. 

The other thing that has made my time here great is the people I work with – RSM has always been a firm with its own personality, made up of great people. I now have the privilege of leading a fantastic team of in house solicitors, delivering the best service possible to our internal clients.

I’m a lawyer within the in-house legal team. My favourite aspects of the role are the variety and the people. I work with all of RSM’s business lines, which means I’m fortunate enough to work on a wide range of matters. I also get to work with people across the business at all levels, from partner to trainee.   
  
During my time at the firm, I’ve found that there is a genuine ‘grow our own’ talent commitment. There is a real desire to see people succeed. To me, seeing people succeed also means being a truly inclusive place to work. 

Since I joined the firm, I’ve joined our LGBT+ employee network, PRISM. It’s always been important to me to be open about my sexuality in the workplace and I’m delighted that my experience at RSM has been nothing but positive.

After ten years, I returned ‘home’ to RSM.   
 
It was genuinely the people who bought me back. I stayed in touch with some amazing individuals who kept me informed of the positive direction the firm was taking. 

Coming back has enabled me to step up and shift my skills mindset. I now oversee the brand team at RSM and build and attract new talent to help deliver our plans.  RSM is the place to go to build a career, as the culture of ‘growing our own’ is deep-rooted across the whole firm.
