Our accounting and business advisory (ABA) team helps clients ranging from SMEs to large corporates to prepare their financial accounts. We work particularly closely on year end statutory accounts before they’re submitted for auditing, so our people need to have a clear understanding of financial reporting standards, LLP SORP and UK GAAP. 

We invest significantly in technology too. Our people are supported by cutting-edge software that cuts out repetitive tasks. Instead, they’re able to focus on interesting work that genuinely adds value for our clients.

By joining our ABA team, you’ll work with clients across sectors and colleagues from other service lines on a weekly basis. Due to the breadth of our 
client base, each week will be varied, and you’ll develop a huge range of skills as you get to interact with stakeholders on a daily basis.

We’re the leader in helping mid-market clients – and that’s all thanks to our people. We’ll help you develop and access opportunities for further progression through our leadership development programmes. And we have dedicated learning and development trainers just for our ABA team. They deliver both technical and soft skills focused training and seminars to everyone, right from trainees to partners.

I lead RSM UK’s accounting and business advisory services and have been a partner here for nine years.

A career in accounting and business advisory (ABA) is varied and full of opportunities for development. It’s exciting, too. I believe business advisers of the future will need slightly differing skills to those of the past. They’ll need to balance deep commercial understanding with new insights from emerging technology.
